In late 2022, we transformed the home of dozens of lonely seniors into a wonderland of light, community and holiday magic for Klick Health's Light the Way initiative at the Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans Care.
Klick Health came to us with a general sense of what they wanted to do and a very short timeline. Our work typically involves detailed planning and site renders to ensure a successful project, something the timing of this event wouldn't allow. Having earned the trust of the agency in previous projects, we quickly moved through a compressed design process and leaned on our organizational strengths and experience to deliver the wow factor they were looking for.
We work very closely with all of our clients, but this project was different. We travelled together and worked alongside one another to create an outdoor community celebration. The central feature of the project was an array of 150 programmed LEDs—over 25,000 lights—fixed to the exterior of the home with magnets so as not to damage the exterior. Multiple projectors flashed holiday-inspired motion graphics onto the side of the building and an audio system for musical acts rounded out a mini-festival ground. In the end, hundreds of attendees celebrated throughout the week and lives of the residents of the long term care home were left a little bit brighter.
