Each November we work with experiential agency, Solutions with Impact, to produce a charity gala for Epilepsy South Central Ontario disguised as a fast-moving cooking show complete with some of Canada's most renowned celebrity chefs.
There's a reason reality cooking shows aren't live. Working in a crowded kitchen is messy and chaotic. Our team designed a stage with multiple screens and an AV package big enough for the room that could also be tucked out of the way allowing the chefs and several camera operators the freedom to maneuver around three cooktops.
We've been doing the Culinary Showdown since 2019 and we have the balance down to a science. While most of the action happens on stage, more than 400 guests sat at tables throughout a ballroom carefully lit with decor lighting providing just the right amount of ambience to enjoy both the show and the company of those around them.
